Pictou County has successfully hosted such sporting events as the World Under 17 Hockey Championships, Canadian Junior 'A' Hockey League Eastern Championship - Fred Page Cup, Satellite games of the World Junior Hockey Championships, Women's World Curling Tour Grand Slam - The Sobeys Slam, Eastern Canadian Fastball Championships, Atlantic Bantam 'AAA' Irving Oil Challenge Cup, Canadian Midget Telus Cup, Bantam Female Atlantic Championships.

In addition to being one of the most cost effective places to do business in Canada, Pictou County is a fusion of urban amenities located in beautiful costal scenery making it an attractive destination for your event! Pictou County is the home of many festivals, events and attractions such as the New Glasgow Riverfront Jubilee which consistently brings Canada’s top musical acts to Pictou County and attracts tens of thousands of visitors for this 3 day festival. The region has also hosted the Nova Scotia Music Week awards and celebrations and other annual signature festivals and events that include the Johnny Miles Running Event, Festival of the Tartans, Race on the River - Pictou County Dragon Boat Festival, Pictou Lobster Carnival and many others. Pictou County has strong roots in Scotland, and there are many festivals and celebrations that pay tribute to this.

Strategically located in northern Nova Scotia, the towns of New Glasgow, Trenton, Pictou, Westville, Stellarton, and the County of Pictou form a large commercial service district with a combined population of just under 50 000.  Our centralized location on the Trans-Canada Highway, mid-way between Antigonish and Truro, and just minutes for the PEI ferry, makes getting here a breeze.  With the Halifax International Airport only 75 minutes away, getting here by car, boat or plane couldn't be any easier... it's wanting to leave that will be hard!
