Public Skates

Participation is at your own risk- Helmets are STRONGLY recommended.
Pictou County's Wellness Centre is not responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damage. 
Skates are subject to cancellation or change depending on rental schedule. Communication will be posted internally and on all social platforms.

Fall 2024 SCHEDULE - STARTS September 3rd

Adult & Senior Skate - Monday through Friday 11:00am - 1:00pm (no charge)

18+ Skating

Family leisure skates - Saturdays & Sundays (when available) 9:00-11:00am (no charge).

  •  Children 14 years of age and younger are to be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
  •  Children U17 years of age and under must wear a CSA approved helmet.
    - Skaters may not enter the ice until the ice resurfacing is complete.
    - Skaters must leave the ice promptly at the end of a session.
    Skates must be worn on ice surface at all times.
  • - Skaters should not loiter in areas that may block major traffic flow.
    - Slower skaters use outside lane, faster skaters use inside lane.
    - No more than two people may join hands; chain skating is not permitted.
    - Throwing snow, horseplay and dangerous behavior is not permitted. 
    - Hockey sticks, pucks or any type of equipment are not permitted.
  • - Strollers, sleds and carrying children on the ice are not permitted.

    Skate in a counter clockwise direction at all times.
  • - Skaters should use appropriate speed during public sessions.
  • - Phones or hand-held electronic devices are not permitted while skating.
